The Kia K8 proves that you don’t need a luxury badge to enjoy a seriously premium driving experience.

I’ll admit it. When I think of cars that suit my generation, my mind usually goes straight to sporty SUVs, stylish crossovers or something compact and fun to drive. A large luxury sedan? Not necessarily at the top of my wish list.
But the Kia K8 made me reconsider. There’s something refreshingly different about this car. It is elegant without feeling old-fashioned, luxurious without being intimidating and packed with technology that actually makes sense for the way we live today.
The K8 feels like Kia decided to take everything people love about premium sedans, give it a modern makeover and make it appealing to a younger audience.
And considering how much time we spend in our cars in Dubai, whether commuting, meeting friends or heading out on spontaneous road trips, having something this comfortable and stylish suddenly makes a lot of sense.
Exterior: Definitely Not Your Average Sedan
Let’s talk about the looks because the Kia K8 knows how to make a first impression.
The front is probably my favourite part. Its sleek lighting, distinctive design and futuristic styling give it a personality that immediately stands out. There’s nothing particularly ordinary about it, which I love.
The car has a long, elegant silhouette, with smooth lines that flow beautifully from front to back. It looks sophisticated, but there’s also a sporty edge that keeps things interesting. At just over five metres long, the K8 is a substantial car, yet the proportions make it look sleek rather than oversized.
The LED lighting gives it a distinctive appearance, particularly after dark, while the available 19-inch alloy wheels add a confident finishing touch. I also like that it doesn’t try too hard to look aggressive. Some cars seem desperate to make a statement, but the K8 manages to look expensive and stylish without shouting about it.
It’s definitely the kind of car you’d be happy to pull up in for dinner at a beautiful hotel or a weekend brunch with friends.

Interior: Giving Luxury Lounge Vibes
If the exterior gets your attention, the interior is where the Kia K8 really wins you over.
Opening the door reveals a cabin that feels surprisingly luxurious. The dashboard is beautifully designed, the materials look and feel premium, and everything has a clean, modern aesthetic.
The available quilted Nappa leather seats are particularly inviting, and there’s something about the combination of soft materials, elegant detailing and ambient lighting that makes the cabin feel like a stylish lounge.
I love interiors that feel welcoming rather than overly complicated, and the K8 gets that balance right. The seats are generously sized, with available heating and ventilation for the front passengers, which is especially appreciated during Dubai’s warmer months.
There’s also plenty of space, both in the front and the back. In fact, the rear seats are so comfortable that I could easily imagine handing over the driving duties and enjoying the journey as a passenger.
The available panoramic sunroof brings additional light into the cabin, while the acoustic glass helps keep the outside world at a comfortable distance.
Another detail I appreciate is the ambient lighting, which gives the interior a completely different personality at night. Whether you’re dressed up for an evening out or heading home after a long day, the K8 creates an atmosphere that makes you want to spend a little more time inside.
Technology: Everything a Connected Generation Needs
As someone who relies on technology throughout the day, I appreciate a car that makes staying connected easy. And the Kia K8 definitely understands the assignment.
The first thing you’ll notice is the stunning panoramic curved display, combining two 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. It looks incredibly modern and gives the dashboard a clean, futuristic appearance.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity mean you can access your music, navigation and favourite apps without unnecessary complications. Wireless phone charging is another welcome feature because there’s nothing worse than realising your battery is running low when you’re already halfway through the day.
Music is a huge part of any drive for me, so the available Meridian premium sound system is a definite highlight. Whether I’m listening to my favourite playlist or catching up on a podcast, having great sound quality makes the journey much more enjoyable.
The available head-up display is another clever addition, projecting useful driving information onto the windscreen so you can keep your attention on the road. Then there’s Remote Smart Parking Assist, which allows you to move the car forwards or backwards using the smart key while standing outside.
For anyone who has struggled with a tight parking space in a busy Dubai mall, you’ll understand why that’s an attractive feature.
The K8 also comes with an impressive range of driver assistance technologies, including Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. These features are reassuring, particularly when navigating busy highways or unpredictable city traffic. What I like most is that the technology feels purposeful. It’s not simply there to look impressive; it’s designed to make driving easier and more enjoyable.
Performance: Smooth, Powerful and Surprisingly Relaxed
Under the bonnet, the Kia K8 features a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine producing 296 horsepower and 359 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Now, I’m not someone who needs every car to feel like a racing machine. I appreciate good performance, but I also want something comfortable, predictable and enjoyable to drive every day.
And that’s exactly the kind of experience the K8 is designed to deliver. The V6 offers plenty of power for highway driving, while the automatic transmission is engineered to make acceleration feel smooth and effortless.
The K8 is more about refined performance than dramatic bursts of speed, which suits its luxury personality. There are different driving modes to choose from, including Comfort, Eco, Sport and Dynamic, allowing you to adjust the car’s responses depending on your mood.
For everyday commuting, Comfort mode makes perfect sense, while Sport mode adds a little extra excitement when you want a more responsive drive. The available electronically controlled suspension is another interesting feature, designed to improve comfort and stability across different road conditions.
What makes the K8 interesting is that it doesn’t need to be excessively sporty to feel impressive. Its strength lies in making everyday journeys feel more relaxed and sophisticated.

Our Verdict: A Luxury Sedan for a New Generation
The Kia K8 genuinely surprised me because it challenges the idea that large luxury sedans are only for older executives or people who spend their lives attending business meetings. It’s stylish, modern, comfortable and filled with features that appeal to younger drivers who appreciate good design and smart technology.
I particularly love the futuristic exterior, the beautifully finished interior and the impressive panoramic display. The available Meridian sound system and clever parking technology are also big selling points for me. If you’re looking for a car that feels premium without necessarily carrying a traditional luxury badge, the K8 makes a convincing case. You can have a car that’s practical, sophisticated and comfortable while still feeling young and exciting.
